Bielle LMDW 2001
Members line up firmly behind this aged Bielle, with the only quibble being the 45% — a few wish it hit harder on the palate. What everyone agrees on: dried figs, raisins and dates, soft spice, sandalwood and tobacco, with a hidden caramel sweetness. One taster likens it to "a softer/older Cognac." Dense and oily despite the modest strength, and not what you'd expect from an agricole.
The community says- Dried figs and raisins
- Cognac-like softness
- Keep in mind: Some want more punch

How does Bielle LMDW 2001 taste?
From community reviews · summarized with AI
Elegant aged agricole, figs and soft spice Loved almost across the board — figs, raisins, spice and gentle oak, with a Cognac-like softness. The one recurring gripe: at 45% some want more punch on the palate.

This one was a nice surprise. The longer it rested the more flavours it released! Perfect balance between fruit, spices and wood in my mind and I like the caramel hidden i there. Draws very nice curtains in the glass.

Bielle No. 3 of the mega split... this time a blend of 8 barrels of this vintage. It comes very soft, mild and light and is a bit more on the woody-chocolate and coffee side. But it does that exceptionally well... with higher ABV it would probably be an absolute bomb.

Epic BIELLE 2001 Tasting. A great vintage, the set was consistently high quality. Only RX5741 and RX4918 were a bit too woody/bitter for me. There was also a clear winner; the cask selected by Kirsch was for me the most intense and harmonious. Here was a perfect mix of wood, fruit, and spices. The blend is also great, but at 45% it feels a bit weak on the palate. Overall, I think this is the highest quality set I've tasted and I don't think you'll ever get anything like it again.

"Great Bielle 2001 Cross-Tasting": An absolutely wonderful easy sipping Bielle as it should be. The 45% is drinkable, elegant and not too thin. Intense notes of cinnamon, black smoky cardamom, dried figs, sandalwood and some tobacco. On the palate complemented by a subtle banana note, as well as ginger and yellow juicy pears. Unbelievably dense, oily and heavy despite the "only" 45%! A lot of fun! Big positive surprise! For me even possibly the highlight overall due to the high drinkability and low drinking resistance and yet high complexity. I also bought the currently last bottle!😁

Today I'm testing a few Bielles from BananaJoe's Megasplit. Compared to each other, these bottlings are on a very high level and differ only minimally. Although I'm not the biggest fan of the profile, it really grabbed me.

Super intense nose and complex flavor which was not expected at 45%. Raisins, banana, cigar and tobacco. Quite spicy (clove). Not a typical Agricole.

Bielle 2001 Flight: 45% - Juuls - Cherry. Let's start with the 45%: Honey, cookies, fine spices, dried fruit, ripe banana, red fruits, earthy. Very fine and balanced. Nice mouthfeel. Warm, finest caramel or gingerbread. Warm and finely spicy finish. Juls Vin & Spirits Compared to the 45%, naturally stronger. Beautiful notes of yellow and tropical fruits. Fantastic wood spice on the palate, but a bit bitter. I like the finish of the 45% a bit more. And now the Cherry…🍒🍒🍒 Cookies and gingerbread, cherry and wonderful, fine spices. Most complex and very, very good. On the palate very similar to Juuls. Very nice finish. Craftsmanship absolutely top tier. Complex, warm, perfectly balanced. The single casks are a bit woodier or slightly bitter, which personally doesn’t bother me. What I hardly know from any other rum in this quality are the truly intoxicating spice notes. 🤩🤩🤩 The Bielle 2001 series stood for years unnoticed from the big hype on the shelves. Great to be able to taste through part of the series. I already had Cask #2 and #8. I basically love Bielle, I can’t put it into words either, but at the end of the day, despite all qualities, there’s no "must-have" feeling. First World Problems. 🤔🤔🤔

Very delicious well balanced matured Bielle. Subtle spicy oak, like a softer/older Cognac or Brandy. Dried fruits: dates/raisins/figs. Very very good. I love it.

Great Bielle 2001 Cross-Tasting: very nice blend, round, not too fruity, rather a bit woody, tea, slightly bitter.
