Overripe strawberry, mango and a wall of fruit esters hit first — blind, several members would swear it's a young Long Pond or Hampden. Underneath sits toffee, polish, a mint note and a wood edge some push toward sandalwood. At 60.4% it's oily and warm but well integrated, with a fermented strawberry finish a few even call smoky. Let the glass rest and the fruit really opens.

WOW! I didn't expect that. You could guess both from taste and smell a young Jamaican from Long Pond or New Yarmouth/Hampden. Fat. Brutally much tropical fruit and esters and caramel, plus some pastry, polish, at the same time salty and sweet, elderflower syrup, nice wood note almost towards sandalwood. On the finish, Savanna then comes back more with the typical fermented, overripe strawberry. Very cool, want more of that!

Ohh this is exactly my thing. Wonderfully fruity... strawberries, papaya, pineapple, banana, and a good load of esters... confusion with high ester Jamaicans quite possible 😅😅.... On the palate it almost explodes... first oily warm and a bit sweet... then it fills the mouth with tropical fruits and esters, also a bit floral (which is hardly present on the nose).... minimal wood and bitterness on the finish. Strong performance 👍🏻

I got this bottle on Friday and sitting here enjoying it on a Sunday :-) I have tried a few Savanna grand arômes and I mostly like them. This one however is really good. The glass needs to rest in order for all the flavours to be released. I got most flavours after 30 minutes where it really gets fruity and you can pick up on the wood. I like the spicy touch well balanced with the spices, varnish and some licorice. A great rum and the price to quality is very good.

The first two Chai Humide bottlings with 8 and 10 years are not without reason among the best you can find under Savanna in the RumX database. Formidable interplay of powerful fruit esters, heavy wood and toffee sweetness, plus for me the classic Savanna Grand Arômes mint with overripe strawberries with some olive and gallant wood influence - another testimony to what fantastic rums can develop in eight years of tropical aging.

The bottle is still more than 2/3 full and I just thought about trading it for a TDL. Just to be safe, I tasted it again and unfortunately today I like it too much. Compared to the last tasting I have to add a few tenths. The HERR influence is HERRlich! And the over 60% suits it well.

What a Grand Arome! The nose is still restrained but on the palate the character of the distillery is fully there, surrounded by many finer nuances. Unfortunately no longer available.

Great Gran Arôme with a captivating (and balanced) mix of tropical fruits (and of course strawberry), fruit esters, polish, wood, and a bit of smoke. Very good! 🤤

Pokud se nepletu, tak chai humide je tzv. mokrý sklep, jeho stěny dělí pouze jednotky metrů od oceánu, což se signifikantně projevuje na jejich chuťovém profilu. Ani tady tomů není jinak a výsledek je ovocna bon pari bomba s trochou soli.

WOW... what a Savanna! I would never have guessed that blind... Esters and tropical fruit to the max... Okay, a bit of strawberry is also there... Not classic for me, but fits my taste!!

Très beau Savanna avec belle intégration. Des esters plus sages que sur du jam mais avec plus d'équilibre et une facilité a boire incroyable. Même si moins détonnant que ses cousins on s'en resert plus facilement un verre. Un côté super floral avec le pot-pourri en tête. On a bien sur aussi une myriade de fruits et ce qu'il faut de gourmandise.
