On the nose, deep aromas of plums, tobacco, and leather, accompanied by roasted oak. On the palate, intense dark dried fruits, leathery spice, and a fine bitterness. Despite the power, it feels surprisingly harmonious and focused. A majestic classic that impressively embodies the Demerara pot still profile.

Herausragend!

Wow! Just an incredibly complex PM with wonderfully balanced plum and wood notes! Probably the best continental Port Mourant I know!

Something special for Christmas. You can even taste the first glass in the morning. Really nice and creamy. A really great rum that is a lot of fun. Every sip is a little piece of history.

Yet another old tasting and I have the following notes. Fruity Spices Oak Chocolate Earthy Light leather Additional note "Very dark and well balanced in the glass".

An absolute device! Lavender and black tea, mocha, molasses, dried plum, lots of oak, lots of wood, concentrated without end, extremely bitter, heavy and oily. Almost a little too extreme for me in terms of wood and bitterness, but a wicked experience! For me personally, it still doesn't live up to the hype at the current prices, but I'm happy to be able to have my say now! 😁

it’s pushing the bar further up! Really? Yes! The scale of 10 points doesn’t do the justice! This is a 10+! The fruitiness on the nose is mind blowing. Old port, red fruits like blackberries and cherries. Dried fruits, but the plums are less present than with RX6901 but the whole rum is even more complex. I maintain the 10 points for RX6901, but this one gets an extra⭐️ Port wine with high ABV on the palate. A perfect balanced bitterness from the cask, adstringent, woody, herbs, espresso, red fruits andca richness and depth that is unique. Just amazing. Speachless. Endless finish. Caroni? What is Caroni? Demerara rules!

I was expecting high end but this one nailed it completely! Stunning rum! It is like a liquid Padron 1964 cigar. Simply the best. Intensive nose with tobacco and plums, taste extraordinary complex with unvelievable well integrated its 70% of alcohol, long finish with dry fruits, chocolate, lecorice. One can explore many more tastes at second sip until is done:( Extraordinary rum. Looking forward to taste its 69,3% brother (once I get a chance to secure a sample:)

If this rum had an OF account, I would apply for a credit card just for it 🤷🏻♂️

Tasted a sample. This is the heaven of spirits. Not possible to describe the intensity and the strength of this miracle.

Review by Pavel Spacek
Not so full nose compared to 69,3% sister. And even the taste is different. Much more leather and little bit sour fiq taste. The alcohol is much more integrated. Not bad rum, but definitely not worth to the price. I preffer RX6901.

"For me, Port Mourant 1964 from Cadenhead's is the best rum in the world. An incredibly complex poem of tobacco, nuts, violets, dark chocolate, roots, cola and fig, ending in a grand finale of prunes. Depth, sweetness, bitterness, perfectly integrated alcohol and power. The rum simply leaves nothing out."
