13.03.2016 Nice relaxing day in the basement with nice food. Notes Light to medium dark colour. Nose Fresh, wood, light roasted, dried fruit, citrus, faint chocolate. Palate Wood, light smoke, dried fruit, toffee, light medicinal, plum. Finish Medium long, wood, roasted, light medicinal, light plum, faint chocolate.

One of the Uitvlugt/Demerara profiles that doesn't fully grab me. Fruity, slightly milky, spicy – the punch from the barrel aging of the tropically stored Demeraras is completely missing here. The rum improves with increasing oxidation, even though the lighter column style from DDL probably will never grab me the same way as the heavy Demerara marques.
