This weekends tasting offered some rare bottles from Dictador. Though I have a few of them on my shelves, all those offered were new to me. This is the first one. This was a great starter and a typical Dictador. Very well balanced on the coffee, nuttyness and sweetness. A nice rum that is very limited.

So when a bottle says 1982, it raises certain expectations of full-bodiedness, complexity, heaviness, depth, or something like that. Unfortunately, there’s not much of that here. Smells like espresso, nuts, wood, slightly burnt. Flavor-wise, similar to the nose. Also a bit watered down. The finish is very short. This bottling is rather disappointing after all.
