Sip this one neat and slow — it's a 28-year Enmore pot-still Demerara that fills the glass with plum, green tea, dark chocolate and dry pencil-shaving wood, with a background of varnish and tar. Several tasters call it complex and elegant but firmly on the dry, bitter side: the fruit lives on the nose, then the palate turns woody, tannic and licorice-bitter. Rewarding, not easy.

A really excellent enmore with smells and flavors of noble wood that make me imagine being inside a room full of antique furniture! The rum is elegant and very balanced alternating notes of sugar, fruit herbs in a really nice way!

A lovely old rum from Guyana. The nose is amazing! Dark and heavy like all good Demeraras. Licorice, fruits, wood, dark chocolate, spicy, has a sweetness to it that I really like as well. I can detect a certain creaminess as well. A long finish with slight bitterness.

04.09.2022 Meeting up for a nice after event party at my hotel. Good rum and food spread over a full day. Nose Wood, light roasted, fruity, anise, varnish, light tar. Palate Wood, roasted, fruity, varnish, earthy, light herbs, licorice. Finish Long, wood, roasted, berries, light herbs, light medicinal.

... Enmore - drive distillery, now just a functional distillation device. Probably the only wooden distillation device in the world that enjoys great popularity. Enmore rums have flavors of ash, leather, heavy wood, which especially excite lovers of smoky whiskies. And if the producer adds a bit of molasses to the rum in the traditional Guyanese way, you have a unique, very strong and heavy rum in the bottle. One of my favorites.

Beautiful sample. A taste of dried fruit (plums) and green tea which gives way to aniseed bitterness. The bitterness/bitterness is reminiscent of over infused tea when you take the bag out too late. The colour is beautifully dark, I sniff again and it's an absolute delight what enmore has created. Very good filling from WildParrot

Nose: stone fruit meets leather, slightly Smokey wood, tea and dried herbs, with a background of solvent and pool chemical. Complex and layered, but a bit dusty and more intriguing than inviting. Palate: strong pencil shavings - dry wood and graphite - peppery. Spices, the fruit of the nose is not present, and there is no sweetness. However not overly tannic. Once again very interesting and complex, but not easy drinking. Alcohol well integrated. Does not have the richness of the 1993 el dorado tropical Enmore.

On the nose, in the first attack, we find plum, raisins, date ... It is not at all aggressive on the nose with its 53.6%, on the contrary it is very sweet. The nose is fruity and fresh but not only, because with aeration appears a heavier profile with notes of roasting, leather, wood ... The nose is undoubtedly attractive. In the mouth, it is creamy and less fruity than the nose, it is more woody and fat on the chocolate. We find some burned caramel. But a rather disturbing bitterness is present (bitter coffee, tannins ...). The finish is long.

Bohatý, komplexní rum, na kterém je znát 28 let v sudu. Ve vůni švestka, čaj (černý), dehet, kůže. Podobné tóny jsou i v chuti, kde se přidává tabák a opečenost. Není to profil úplně podle mého gusta, ale oceňuju, jak vše dobře do sebe zapadá. Update 04/2026: V zásadě beze změn, pořád to není “můj” rum, ale oceňuju ten styl a nekompromisnost.
