The tasted one is from batch 002. Have also a bottle from batch 001, but haven’t tasted it yet. My guide during my visit at the distillery told me that they’re most pleased with the Port Cask Finish, of the three, in batch 002. I’ll drink to that! It has a fantastic nose and the taste is very distinct with great flavors and a very pleasant finish.

Delicious rum with an elegant port finish at an incredibly good price. Round rum with red fruit, port wine, chocolate, spices and caramel. The only drawback is the alcoholic sharpness in the mouth and finish. Very good, I really like it considering the general conditions!

You are guilty as charged Mr.Persson, for your review of this rhum. 🙏 8,5:The nose is pleasant from the beginning, with a profile that is fairly typical of the English style. Here's a touch of strongly roasted coconut, white wood with a hint of brown tobacco, leather, then toffee with a hint of coffee. As orange peel provides refreshment, it's joined by dark, quite intense, sweet tannic prunes and roasted nuts. Aeration gives us an even fuller-bodied, roasted side, with coffee and well-roasted nuts. At the heart of the rum, a concentration of beeswax and encaustic make it intense and brilliant. All these toasty notes are in fact a shell housing a vibrant core. 8,5:On the palate, this encaustic aroma swings between beeswax and more rounded medicinal/herbal notes. These aromas seem to come from a fine concentration of wood, offering intensity and a frankly savory side. Roasted nuts are drizzled with battery syrup, sultanas and seasoned with a hint of salt, always in the direction of serious gourmandise, tropical fruits come to the fore with pineapple, maracuja, later dried prunes wave us swiftly. 8,1:The finish is relatively discreet, a bit dry, with a few hints of vanilla tobacco and toasted coconut..

#4968 11.12.2024 Enjoying a few samples at home celebrating that I have my diabetes under control. Got a lot of credits from my doctor being able to level out my 3 month bloodsugar extremely fast 😊 Nose Fresh, light, fruity, light peach, vanilla, wood, berries, light caramel, light tobacco. Palate Warm, wood, light roasted, fruits, light tobacco, natural sweetness, plum, light berries, medium spicy, light caramel. Finish Medium long, wood, light roasted, spice, medium spicy, light caramel, light plum, faint floral. The empty glass has light chocolate and faint honey notes.

The port finish is nicely integrated, much stronger, drier and smokier than expected and a slight alcoholic spiciness resonates. all in all, however, as usual at english harbour a top price performance and very tasty!

Very nice port influence. This makes it significantly more complex!

After second tasting of this English Harbour Port cask I have to increase the score a bit. I still like the sherry cask twin little more. On nose, for me little indistinguishable mix of wood and port. On palate it is still woody and a dry. Finish is OK, but no so significant or special. Overall, this is a good rum for beginners.
Review by Montana
A slightly fruity smell, a little vanilla and port. The taste is also somewhat fruity, spicy and dry. The finish has a slight sharpness.

Great, less pronounced than sherry cask which is a minus and less sweet which is a plus

Nosing Sweet port ,oak raisens ,brown sugar Taste Oak watered down ,port oak cask The weakness in my taste buds is port cask and this delivers ... Not on the scale of Fsq as it's quite basic but still a delightful drop to have in a collection

Wow, I tried EH 10 Y.O. and I like it, but this one has no mistake.

One my favourite price/quality rums. The bottle I would pick for a casual evening. lot of wood and spice followed by fruit. Light sweetness Pleasant rum Nothing very special, but overcomes most of the rums within the same price range

Fazit: Rum trotz 46% scharf im Auftritt, mit langem Nachhall. Sehr würzig, vor allem pfeffrig aber auch leicht vanillig. In Summe zu anstrengend.
