Aroma visualization from community tastings
Whisky & Rhum Don José L'Esprit 2004
Give it ten minutes in the glass before you go in — at 61.4% the alcohol needs air to settle. What surprises people is the smoke: an unusual roasted, whisky-like note sitting over vanilla, caramel and plenty of oak. The palate lands sweeter than the proof suggests, creamy with toffee and ripe fruit. A smoky, sweet Panama that most agree needs a bit of patience.

How does Whisky & Rhum Don José L'Esprit 2004 taste?
Aggregated from 11 community reviews.
Smoky, sweet cask-strength Panama that wants air Well-liked as an unusually smoky Panama, with the sweetness a recurring plus. The common gripe: the alcohol could be better integrated, and it stays cask-driven.

Review by Schnapsschuesse

Review by Oliver
Beautiful representative of the Spanish style. A very pleasant sweetness paired with power and intensity. I like it very much, only the alcohol could be a little better integrated.
