Blind, I would probably have landed somewhere near Clairin, as I've often seen myself swimming in olive water there, although here it's more like the pure olive in the glass. Especially in the finish, a well-fitting cheese note comes in. Fruit-wise, especially in the mouth, some lychee. I particularly like the oily consistency on the tongue. Alcohol, expected at this ABV, is not noticeable. Admittedly very special, but objectively a very good quality rum and taste is known to be subjective.

#5046 17.01.2025 Enjoying some samples at home. Nose Fresh, round, light vegetal, olive, fruits, light apple, spice, light grass. Palate Oily, round, fresh, olive, light salt, fruits, light citrus, faint mint, light herbal, light grass. Finish Medium long, oily, round, light olive, light salt, medium dry, herbs, light grass, faint mint. The empty glass has mint, cinnamon, light iodine and faint melon.

Both on the nose and palate, a vegetable, pepper note is noticeable; to me it had something of a Savanna. They also had a vegetable bottling. Unfortunately, it doesn't suit my taste at all.

Wow, a really intense vegetal thing. It's really very floral, fresh, floral and also earthy. Olive, grass and hay are recognizable. But just very, very vegetal, okay for a Japanese rum I think :)

An easy-drinking, uncomplicated rum with a pleasant profile. Lots of fruit on the nose. Mostly lychee. Cane, a very vegetal note. Same on the palate, where the low degree makes it very easy to drink. Not crazy, but rather pleasant.

Rhum Club de Lille, evening 1: a first white very floral, very very fresh. There's a gin side but rounder, quite fluid. There's also pineapple, pear, plum. It's disorienting but really good and easy to drink.

Soft rice wine. Sake almost. Maybe that's just my prejudice though. Pours off white. Very smooth. Vanilla, white pepper. Medium finish. Some type of aroma I can't place as well. Part of a flight at Castas.

At first sniff and taste, it reminds you more of a French island. Very intense green clean notes of sugarcane and Agricole. No burn or scratch. The distillate really has potential.

Tried at Sunken Harbor Club; no tasting notes. This was something Garrett recommended as a profile we’ve never experienced and he was right. It has some unaged funk that I would have guessed came from pot still cane juice, which this is not. Really exciting to get this sort of flavor from column still molasses, and I’d love to explore more from them. It had a distinct sea water profile (not in a bad way), with some other umami notes like brine, olive, or pineapple that were a lot of fun.
