Beenleigh Rum Artesanal Australia Rum Inner Circle MAIC10 2007
Most tasters land in the same happy place: this is a very Beenleigh Australian, and people like knowing it when they smell it. Green apple, pear and grapefruit up front, then wood, spice and a honeyed sweetness, with a light ester lift a few compare to a gentle Hampden. A metallic streak turns up on the nose, and one or two catch a savoury, almost bacon-like note. At 50.4% it warms without burning.

How does Beenleigh Rum Artesanal Australia Rum Inner Circle MAIC10 2007 taste?
Aggregated from 59 community reviews.
Fruity, spiced Australian pot still with light ester Widely liked and easy to recognise as a Beenleigh — fruity, spiced and honeyed, with just enough ester to stay interesting. A couple find the metallic edge or dryness distracting.

Nose: relatively strong, alcoholic, sticky at the beginning, slightly smoky, a little herbal, very interesting and different from other rums. Makes you want more. Taste: quite strong, alcohol tingles neatly on the sides of the tongue, yet not too strong, alcohol content well chosen. By the tingling also not at all boring. A bit fruitier than on the nose, the smoke is there, almost something burnt on the palate, creamier the longer in the mouth, does not burn despite its power! Well done, I like it well.Finish: Long, warms, spicy, slightly woody.

A good rum that knows how to please, the fruitiness with the bitter spicy notes fits. A very good Australian in this glass. I really like it.

Oha a very interesting Artesanal rum. Slightly alcoholic on the nose. But the honey is also clearly recognizable. The taste is a little meaty or tends towards bacon. Certainly takes some getting used to.

I have emptied this sample without making many notes, so I have to fill from memory. However, both times I tasted it this was a very good experience, a mix between fruit, Caramel and wood. I highly recommend this!

A refreshing good rum that knows how to please very much , the fruitiness in the interplay with the slightly more tart spicy notes I like very much!
Review by Righrum
A nice beenleigh, pretty standard anyway. This is from the pombe era, a much fatter and rounder profile. The usual agrumes notes are the most noticeable along with a lot of spices. Some sweet notes, almost honeyed, and the wood influence complete the profile

Am I just lucky or the guys from Rum Artesanal do just pick wonderful barrels? This Australian rum is really pleasant, very fruity, with grapefruit and apple (I’d say green ones) upfront, than some wood, spices (vanilla and maybe a touch f ginger) and roasted almonds. The sweet note I get really reminds me of honey. After some times I do get a slight hint of esters, but waaay less than a typical Jamaican rum. The finish is decently long and adds up some bitter chocolate, but it still remains fresh. You better watch out, because in no time you might drink the whole glass, maybe more than one :D

Tested against RX10872. He definitely needs time, but if you give him this he becomes a very good taste experience. Was skeptical at first, but now I find him really good. Has definitely become rounder than I initially assumed.

On the nose, there is a fresh, slightly lemony fragrance with a subtle hint of blackcurrant. The freshness has a metallic, resinous quality. Bitter citrus fruit and grapefruit on the palate. Again somewhat resinous, grassy, spicy. A hint of bitter almond The fine, spicy bitter note remains on the finish A little too dry and hard for my taste

Very interesting Williams pear note, which I like very much. A nice sipper that could do with a few more volts.

After the TCRL, another Australian that appeals. Definitely a style that can be easily distinguished from other countries.

Quite different from the other 2007 Australians I know. Bacon sausage dipped in chocolate or Hawaiian toast garnished with chocolate or salmon steak with lemon and sour apple are wild associations that come to mind here. It tingles on the tongue a bit like sour snakes.
