Due to the finish, an aroma spectrum mainly of smoky notes and syrupy sweetness arises, which almost overlays all other notes. Overall, therefore, a pretty straightforward bottling. Solid, because the smokiness still provides a counterbalance, but not more, because hardly anything else happens.

My RumRatings review from 6 years ago is misleading here because I was simply fascinated back then. Over time, it became rather difficult to drink and without the fascination part, also uninteresting, as the whisky notes then do bother. So I'll leave it out here. In summary: I found the finish successful because the peated part only came through gradually while drinking and the parts complemented each other well. So far the only peated finish I could get along with, only to eventually go separate ways. From a craftsmanship perspective, very good work.
