El Ron del Artesano Panama Rum - Peated Cask Finish 2009

This is a light Panama column rum sent through a peated cask, and the smoke does most of the talking — campfire and peat up front, with tobacco, honey and a bit of green apple underneath. The body runs thin, so the finish carries it: smoky and lightly spiced, lingering longer than the palate. Whisky drinkers will feel right at home.

Fazit: Etwas dünn, dafür aber definitiv was für Whisky Fans. Finish ist deutlich an Nase und Gaumen zu vernehmen. In Summe Easy sipping.

Durch das Finish entsteht im wesentlichen ein Aromenspektrum aus Rauchnoten und siruparziger Süsse, das nahezu alle weiteren Noten überlagert. Insgesamt dadurch ziemlich gradlinige Abfüllung. Solide, weil die Rauchigkeit noch ein Gegengewicht erhält, aber eben auch nicht mehr, weil sonst kaum was passiert.
