A rum where the finish in the wine barrel is clearly evident. The marriage is rather successful and the whole is quite smooth. The finish is moderately long and lifts the palate a little.

Let's move now to the old HSE rums and our first finish in the world, namely the Finish sauternes La Tour Blanche 2003-2014 at 41%. So this is a rum distilled in 2003 and aged for 10 years in oak barrels. The finish was done for 1 year in barrels that previously contained Château La Tour Blanche (1st classified growth in Sauternes). Very pastry-like nose: vanilla, honey, candied fruits... with a hint of wood. The nose is very promising. Maybe a bit too much because on the palate it’s less round, more on dried fruits and dry white wine. The nose was more seductive than the palate.

Sauternes finish gives a fruity side to the rum. Good balance with the rum's aromas and the aging. Very good value for money.
