Typical Demerara sweetness from wood and some spice, very drinkable without ever becoming banal. Balanced aromas and thus still a little rounder than the 1991 vintage, although the alcohol here definitely shows presence.

A great rum that reins in the heavy proof resulting in a very complex yet very balanced rum. This rum may want you to go for seconds and thirds 😊 In my opinion better than the 1991 release.

... Old Velier Demerara rums are the best you can taste in the rum world. Rums aged rather by accident for several years in the tropics and no one topped up the cask contents. The angel's share was 90% and more, so the taste is especially full and intense. Although it is an extra expensive affair, I recommend tasting rum from this series at least once in your life.

As expected, this Blairmont 1982 offers an extremely round profile on both nose and palate but shows remarkable balance. Combined with a perfect alcohol integration, it makes this rum dangerously easy to sip !
