Does what you can expect from it, no more, no less. Slightly too bitter for me on the finish.

Overall, I find the 2007 a bit more complex than the 2008, although there isn't much difference. Especially notable is that the finish is significantly longer. Unfortunately, I always find the sulfur notes a bit difficult at first.

You have to get close to the nose first. It smells dull and herbal at the beginning, with a strange mix of chamomile and a hint of eucalyptus. At the same time, I also get something sweet like nougat chocolate and old floorboards. And then comes stale red wine. On the palate, I also get this musty hint of stale red wine or port. Very herbal, again with chamomile and a bit of eucalyptus. In the finish, more and more of the green, grassy sugarcane comes through. You have to get used to it. Then it’s something different. But it’s not really my thing.

Quite a lot of bitter notes in the finish. Stays long on the tongue, but not quite pleasant, rather numbing.

Even more tannins, very furry, very dry, nice spice but not quite harmonious. A bit sharp on the finish.

Again i feel like Madeira can do much better than this. It is very christmas-y and rather watered down. Nothing worng but i feel there could be a much better version of this bottling! Especially side by side this fails hard to be outstanding
