"Too sweet for me" is the line that keeps coming back on this one. Vanilla, caramel and a chocolate-covered banana note make it soft and easy going down, and a couple of tasters call it a pleasant sipper. But most reviewers land on the same spot: sugary and a bit one-note, with one even catching a faint soapy edge. Comfortable, dessert-like, not much to dig into.

This rum I would like to try less heavily sweetened. The fruit notes, vanilla, some oak are very pleasant on the nose and in the mouth, but in the end the rum is just too sweet for me.

Tried this in a hotel bar with very limited range. Would never have tried it under normal circumstances, cause I had earlier tested the XO and thought it was much too sweet. This one is also too sweet for me, but less than the XO.

Very sweet rum, possibly suitable for beginners. I wouldn't be surprised if a good amount of sugar was added. Drinkable, but for me too boring and above all too sweet.

Original impressions from 2017 rum calendar. Nose: **** Taste: *** Overall: **** ”40% Dominican Republic. 87606 systembolaget (499:-)” Nice and sweet on the nose with vanilla, chocolate and caramel. This translates nice to the palate and a very pleasant sipper.
