06.04.2019 Nice relaxing day at home with nice samples. Notes Light in colour. Nose: fresh, fruity, light wood, citrus, caramel, light smoke. Palate: oily, wood, smoke, pineapple, fruity, caramel, ester. Finish: long and warm, wood, citrus, light caramel. Extra note: slightly different/lighter from the previous one.

Classic Hampden profile with elegant, oily heaviness in the mouth. I like it very much, even if the fruit lacks a little assertiveness for my taste. Apart from that, however, an absolutely convincing bottling.

The nose is, of course, on ripe tropical fruits. There is a minty freshness and notes of confectionery box. And also olives, glue and leather. On the palate, the funky side fades away quite quickly to give way to ripe exotic fruits. 19 years of aging have given it a nice roundness. It's really well integrated and greedy! And very complex with more subtle notes of vanilla and coffee. The finish is nice and rather long on brown sugar, pistachio, bitter chocolate and some floral notes.
