Really good overproof! Alcohol surprisingly well integrated! Can actually be drunk better neat than expected 🤣 saved my evening after a missed flight in Vienna. Awesome for lighting zombie cocktails and more.

This rum is amazing and at the same time my first overproof. Immediately warming on the tongue, it has a pronounced mildness for this alcohol content, which I did not expect. Notes of coffee, caramel and dark chocolate paired with a long finish. When tasting, be sure to try it at the end.

Very interesting to taste neat, despite a high ABV%. An airing of the rum would be recommended, and it is great in cocktails. Nose of molasses and I got notes of vanilla, licorice and caramel (after airing for about 20 minutes)

Quite a sharp nose, as you'd expect. Very molasses forward, with oak, cinnamon and raisin following. With this high ABV it can almost feel as if it is evaporating on the tounge before any liquid enters the throat. Its sweet. Raisin, licorice the molasses from the nose are all present and a lot easier to detect with water. Finish is short with lots of brown sugar and oak. For me, there are better overproofs on the market. Though, this is one of the strongest out there if that's your thing. Would work well in a Zombie with its dark, licorice notes.

Very strong rum, not my cup of tea. It is noticeable in the throat if you try this rum straight. However, it is ideally suited as an alcoholic base for a Cuba Llbre. The high woody alcohol content is noticeable on the nose.

I would guess definitely lower voltaz, at 75% it is a fairly smooth rum, but not distinctive aromas and flavors

Quite enjoyable on its own! The alcohol is well integrated.

151's always come with caveats. They are meant to be pinch hitters, usually in cocktails. This one is really not bad as far as these things go. The undisputed king is Lemon Hart 151, no other rum even comes close at that strength. For me personally I quite liked the 151 Pusser's expression as well, it is my second favorite. This Gosling's 151 comes in a close third. It is a good expression but there are better ones out there. If you've had a particularly bad day I recommend putting this in your dark n' stormy but if you have accesss to Lemon Hart 151, use that instead.

Really good and interesting. The alcohol very well integrated and fabulous examples of a very high proof rum that can be sipped neat. Sweet contrasted with nice bitter and woody flavour makes for a balanced rum. I am curious how it would work in a cocktail now!
Review by The Rumanticist
Surprisingly sweet and smooth for a 151 and molasses flavor is dominant. Dried fruit, alcohol, and molasses aromas enchant the nose as if to distract from the high proof disclaimed on the label like a siren’s song. The color is treacle like a watery abyss trapped in a bottle wherein the most terrible sea monsters lie undisturbed. Molasses, dried fruit, and brown sugar notes coat the tongue and brace it for a comparatively mild impact of alcohol that evaporates into a medium finish of spices, something fire-roasted, and finally molasses.

Tasted 03-07-2016 I have had to update he tasting notes on this as stupidly tried neat and expected depth of rum. As of 2021 this is a fantastic zombie rum that's deep in chocolate and delicious
Review by Solidfunk
Decent dose of cognac here and comes around nice. I get potpourri, tanned leather and booze. Dark clear copper pour. Spicy booze tinge sticks with you, not much sweetness here.
