8,4:On the nose, roasted wood notes like caramel, burnt sugar, spicy with baking spices, anise, slightly burnt, dried fruits like raisins and apricots, prunes, citrus fruits, bump into our nosetrils. On aeration, complexity of this rum comes out with thick molasses, vegetal with soy sauce, dark with black tea, licorice, rubber, copper join, slightly sulphurous hints, cherry arises, coffee and confectionery hints. 8,4:On the palate, the attack is sweet with roasted wood notes like burnt sugar, dark chocolate, nuts, spicy, leather, slightly burnt, metallic, molasses is thick, dark with licorice, vegetal with soy sauce, fruity with dried fruits like raisins and figs, prunes, citrus fruits, plums, like a marmalade. 8,3:The finish is medium long, dry&tannic, barrel impact is strong with dark roasted wood notes like cocoa, nuts, burnt sugar, caramel, spicy anise, dark molasses with licorice, black tea and dried fruits..

This is definitely not a Hampden :-) But it's pretty quickly recognizable as Guyana. Very roasty style, lots of (dark) chocolate, but you can also really well identify coffee and mocha here.

A really positive surprise if you don't put too much weight on the label Navy Rum. Strong barrel influence with coffee and chocolate, some leather and lots of spices. Also burnt sugar and dried fruits. Not a banger, but an easy sipper!
