Near-universal love here, with only one holdout: most tasters call this old Port Mourant a "Bilderbuch" Demerara — plum jam, tobacco, leather, dark chocolate and dusty old wood, all tightly knit. At 60.8% the alcohol flashes hot for a second but folds back in. One member found the musty wood a touch too much; almost everyone else put it at the top of their day.

Super intense nose! The palate continues intense with lots of plum, wood, tobacco, menthol, anise and spices. Absolute Guyana Olympus!

15.11.2025 Enjoying a few old samples while I am cleaning up my rum cabinets. Breaking a sweat over this actually. ------------- 04.03.2017 Whiskymessen by whisky.dk with a few friends and also trying some whisky samples. Notes. Best rum of the day. Very well balanced though the wood was string it still only complimented the profile. Oily palate with a very long finish.

The nose presents prominent leather notes, dried plums, tobacco, and dark chocolate. On the palate, these impressions deepen – creamy dried fruits, roasted wood, a hint of menthol, and a delicate licorice note join in. The finish is long-lasting, with smoky leather and a fine bitterness that rounds off the profile perfectly. A typical Port Mourant with lots of substance, depth, and precision, fully living up to its high score.

An absolutely outstanding vintage. Dried fruit, sweet, molasses notes, musty wood and spices are in perfect harmony here. The more than 60% bring a lot of power, yet it remains pleasant. It has the least bitterness compared to other PMs from the 60s and 70s. Nice that I still have 7cl ^^

I can appreciate the time this spent maturing but the musty wood notes on this one spoils for me what otherwise would be an amazing pour. Still very good.

Whooo! Incredible full taste, plum jam with spirit. Brown fruit. In one moment the alcohol overhelms the taste and hit your tongue, but it just make your tongue working better. Incredible old Port mourant
