Almost nobody here rates this as a sipper — most tasters call it thin, watery and a touch artificial, with just a bit of sweetness, vanilla and light oak left once the 37.5% is diluted down. Noch so ein Billirum, aber der ist teilbar, nix leckeres, aber im Energy wird er dann schon schmecken. Eine leichte Süße haben wir, überwiegend Vanille, etwas Holz, ist aber sehr scharfkantig und brennend.

This should not really be called rhum.... It is watered down almost beyond recognition and only hints of sweetness and bitterness in the taste.... All aromas have disappeared. A rhum like this could spoil a beginner's start 😌

I'd never had the chance to test this Negrita on its own. Now I have. And it will probably be the one and only time. It's of no interest either for tasting or for cocktails. Maybe for pancakes and cakes, but no more.

First of all: there is an older bottling in my glass. Unfortunately, I don't know the exact year and only this bottling is available here on RumX. Unfortunately, I don't know to what extent this differs from the current bottling. Surprisingly exciting nose! Fruity and sweet, almost multi-layered with lots of exotic fruit. Unfortunately, the palate is the complete opposite: thin and watered down, apart from a little sweetness, there's not much left here! A few extra points for the nose, but all in all a bottling that you don't need!

Dug really deep into the sample box and unfortunately got this one. Apart from the fancy sample bottle the rum has not much to offer. Tastes like one from the supermarket, way down on the shelf...

Very thin. Wood, vanilla, sweetish smell. Meh. The alcohol doesn’t sting as cheap as expected… probably due to the 37.5%… this one goes into the back drawer.

You can drink it neat. But as a time travel in a Cuba Libre, it's not bad at all. Still more pleasant than the FRC Ecuador series. In my opinion, an average rating is justified. With a few more degrees, it would probably be better. At least it doesn't taste as artificial as Riise or Don Papa.

Well....what can I say. Tastes thin and somehow artificial. No idea what's in it, but you can drink it in cola, otherwise not so much.

I like it for pancakes, it's not that bad. I find it much better than the first price SAINT JAMES.
