This is a wonderful rum in my mind. The pricing puts this one in a good spot. The ABV has been very well integrated and there is a good balance with the dryness. Lightly fruity with vanilla and smoky wood. What I noticed while it rested was that the nose came at me though sitting on my couch while the tumbler was on the table. Very fresh rum.

Young and wild. A bit sharp. Hits the nose strongly, but not as much as wasabi 😬. Overall tasty, but I also really like the Diamond character. Value for money definitely okay at the price under 50€.

Nose: Clearly alcoholic, citrus fruits and lots of spice. Notes of banana and vanilla complement. Palate: sharp at first, alcohol very present. Cherry, spice and wood with a touch of pepper. Finish: bitter and woody. Conclusion: Despite the longer aging, not noticeably milder or rounder than the 9-year-old from Guyana. It is much more harmonious.

Great daily sipper!!! Really fresh, fruity, vanilla, although for me much better and smoother after dilution. Definitely recommendable for the price. Unusually, I also found it really good in a Daiquiri.

A rather austere Diamond (Versailles Still). Light in wood. Heavy in spirit. Definitely needs some time to open up. Everything is in place but it really lacks complexity. It could do with just a hint of cask influence. Other than that it's a very honest drop. No fuzz. Straight forward.

Tasted as a 2cl sample. For a 13-year-old rum, the very light color irritated me a little. I would have thought that after all this time, the color would be completely different. Wonderful smell of freshly mown grass combined with vanilla, yellow stone fruit and banana. Super pleasant nose. The taste was a completely different story. It's crazy how far apart smell and taste are. Vanilla here too, but only very minimally fruity, instead wood with a pleasant bitterness, tar and smoke, but on a pleasant scale. I have to say that of the TRCs I've tried so far, this is almost my favorite, even though I'm usually more of a fan of fruity Jamaicans and Savanna.

Certainly not a relaxed drop. Very fruity on the nose (banana, etc.), but then the complete opposite on the palate (spicy, biting, dirty), also on the finish... But then suddenly a light fruity note comes out of nowhere.

This one is more accessible and not quite as edgy as the 2008!This fits much better and already rather meets my taste!
