Spicy on the nose, not very intense due to the dilution, but very pleasant. Maggi and a bit of leather. Dark fruits leaning towards blackberry but not so sweet. Has hints of cocoa and a light orange note. Pleasantly woody. On the palate, the dilution feels a bit watery. Still remains spicy-woody, with plenty of tannins. This makes it come across salty-bitter, also has something of old cardboard. Feels a bit sour, like stale red wine. Nutmeg at the end. Better on the nose than on the palate. Could handle more ABV...

A bit thin but not a bad rum in itself. Unfortunately, there's some off-note for me. Can't specify exactly, somehow sour/fermented. 🤷🏻♂️ I tasted it again and still can't identify what personally bothers me about it.

15.02.2019 I received a huge lot of Samaroli samples from my friend in the UK, and this is the third batch I tried. Notes. Dark in colour. Nose: light, fresh, wood, roasted, citrus, nutts, vegetal. Palate: oily, round, plum, licorice, cherry, light anise, medium dry. Finish: medium long, wood, anise, licorice, cherry.
