Many thanks Johannes for this blind tasting. #No.3 Nice fruity with some sweetness and slightly floral flowery, decent wood but not disturbing, a bit of clove, nice spice. The alcohol is very present on the nose and palate and not really well integrated.

Johannes Blind-Tasting No 3: The nose is barely noticeable, some caramel and cream toffee. The palate is very sweet at first, as if a dosage was added. Then again caramel, brown sugar, slightly roasted, allspice and roasted nuts. The finish is short and slightly bitter. I suspect a Spanish style like Cuba. Edit: I would never have guessed a Bellevue. This one is completely atypical

Johannes Bild Tasting. Many thanks for this opportunity! 😊 This bottling appeals to me a bit more. Typical Bellevue DNA. For a top rating it lacks a bit of balance. Still a nice rum and good to drink with vegetal notes, wood and spices.

Illness-related private re-tasting of Johannes Blintasting Set from the penultimate FTG meeting. Today the third Advent door is open... so I thought: I’ll take number 3. Nice nose. Smells French. Confirmation on the palate. Alcohol stings a bit and the spices (clove, allspice) are a bit too pronounced and steal the floral fruity note of the nose. A weaker Bellevue?

Bild Tastin #3: complex on the nose. Some fruits (grapes), caramel, chocolate and wood. On the palate: pretty nice. A long aged Agricole maybe? 🤔 Backing spices (cinnamon), wood, dried fruits and a hint of vegetal notes - maybe rather a French molasses rum? Definitely a highlight of the set. Cheers, Johannes for the set - was a blast to taste.

At first quite neutral on the nose, lots of classic notes of oak wood and caramel, spicy aroma, gradually heavy fruitiness also shows in the background. On the palate a bit more expressive, but overall still in the lower midfield of the spectrum of the Guadeloupe releases from 1998.

For me so far the best from Johannes' blind tasting series. You can rely on a 98 Bellevue. You can always drink it well. Unlike some others from this blind tasting, it matches my preferred flavor profile.

Blind tasting set from Johannes (thanks for that): Oh, very nice nose, sweet and spicy. Also pleasant on the palate, some herbs, honey, roasted notes. I like it very much, so far the best rum from the tasting set.

Quite roasty, mocha. Stronger on the finish. Otherwise a brief flash of fruit. The barrel influence and spice are the strongest to be felt. Also quite sweet.

A spicy Bellevue where the alcohol is well present, a bit creamy on the palate but then very dry. Dried fruits and grassy notes join in the aftertaste.

A weird combo and I have no clue, orange and wood, some white wine and Nelke. Seriously confusing and probably french island and molasses with some funk. Not good not bad this is rum and I am really keen to learn what it is...
