Bought some samples of Montebello Blanc from Rhum Attitude. This one is the first Cuvée Bolokos, vintage 2018. The cane is from R 579 is hand harvested and called red or purple cane. It was rested for 12 months and regular stirred to be more aromatic. The name “The Bolokos” comes from the Guadeloupean punk band "The Bolokos" and their song "White Rum" which was filmed in the distillery. It’s a limited edition of just 943 bottles. Overall a great Agricole, but the ABV overpowers the taste a little bit too much.

A bit too fermented, very yeasty & too vegetal and too little fruity for my taste. Alcohol well integrated though and quite solid in the ti punch. In the finish slight notes of blackcurrant, green cardamom and white chocolate develop which also come out well in the ti punch. Overall it doesn’t really grab me.

#4061 Looking at the price tag you get a lot for your money with this release. A very fresh rum with nice fruit and nice floral and grassy notes. The palate is dry and lightly oily and it draws nice curtains. The empty glass reveals very light chocolate notes.

The nose is magnificent, like on the great Montebello. Currants, wild berries galore, plus cane, a vegetal side not too pronounced. On the palate, the heat is more than correct, raspberry, plum, licorice/anise reveal themselves, a thick, almost milky side, it's top. Only lacks a bit of length maybe to be perfect.
