Slightly ahead compared to the 24y. Caroni influence clearly noticeable. Typical notes are recognizable, but do not completely dominate. The alcohol integration should be much better here to be able to rate it higher. Nevertheless, a solid rum.

Caroni immediately comes to mind on the nose and palate. Great sweetness! However, the alcohol is too present for me to give it a better rating.

On the nose the 24y and 25y Cadenhead‘s bottling are very close. Woody and some umami notes with a hint of fruity notes (grapes). On the plate both are again similar: Quite balanced on the palate with more vanilla and sweetness as well as fruits. The 25y gravitates a bit mir towards roasted and woody notes. Both very enjoyable.

My first thought was Caroni, the dirty, sweet and fruity variety... actually my thing, if, yes, if the alcohol was better integrated... it has a strong counterweight to the great flavors, and so the great bottling gets out of balance. Despite everything, a good rum

Once rested it was like a light Caroni. The rubber and tar was there with some light fruit and chocolate. Love how well the wood and ABV was integrated.

Relaxed TDL but no revelation, overall also rather Spanish in aroma. So it could also be "just" an old Angostura that got some TDL funk. But definitely tasty, the alcohol is also very well integrated.

A rather light and round TDL that could nearly pass off as a fruity Caroni. After a while in the glass I can smell a minty note in the background. There’s some wood, vanilla, light spices, tar and chocolate. Makes for a nice sipping rum but I wouldn’t purchase a bottle.

Dirty Caroni notes hit you immediately on the nose. On the palate then a lot of sweetness. That's somewhat borderline, but on the other hand it harmonizes nicely with the dirty notes of a Caroni. Blind, I probably wouldn't have recognized T.D.L.

The alcohol tweaks the nose enormously when it takes on the cap after resting 😀, but then it unfolds its fullness of aromas. A beautiful composition of fruits, a fine sweetness, plus a little rubber and mint. The palate inspires me even more, really cool and dirty 😉, rubber and tar, plus the wood influence, leather and a little minerality. Great TDL! The little man's Caroni😊, although...at today's prices.😀🙈

Amazingly good for a 91 TDL!

The nose is intense and pastry-like: honey/vanilla/cherry/marzipan! But after resting, fermented and tar notes appear (how strange, we are not at Caroni's!). In mouth, it is creamy and salty. We find dried fruits and fig. And again notes of hydrocarbons. It is not possible, the cask must have dragged a little at Caroni ... The finish is very long. On this finish, we find mainly a spicy profile! This bottling from another era (almost 10 years old now) has a very surprising and interesting profile. The complexity of the smoky/ tarry notes blend perfectly with the woody/fruity. It is by far, much better than the same vintage bottled by SBS.

Nice TDL, but tamer, more column-styled and thus less interesting compared to the vintages of the early 2000s. Well-integrated alcohol and nice mouthfeel.

The nose starts on Japanese cherry blossoms. Then after a few minutes, the characteristic sting of a good TDL, on pink grapefruit, fresh lychee, and even a bit of fresh mint. It's pleasant and very fragrant. Then comes a bit of wax that turns into UHU glue. Even a bit of 'under the hood' smell (ephemeral for me). After several sips, a slight briny note of green olive in a jar appears. On the palate, we find the camphor side I had on my last TDL tastings, less expressive. On the second sip, after retro-olfaction, a certain bitterness sets in and seems to come from a primitive juice made of starfruit, sour cherry, unripe cinnamon apple. A sweet-salty side settles in, slowly reaching umami flavor. The alcohol seems less present on the nose than on the palate. After about ten TDLs (91, 99, 2000, 2001, 2003...), I conclude that this distillery deserves all my attention, to the point of collecting every future bottling.

Too sharp alcohol taste for TDL... Beautifully minty for a bottle under 100€. You can feel the alcohol but very drinkable. I recommend it even to beginner rum lovers to discover new flavors. TDL's mint is an unmistakable flavor that you will never get tired of.
