Got a sample of this rum from the RR Tasting Club. Coruba is a blended pot still as well as column still rum distilled and matured by Wray & Nephew, whereafter it’s sent to Switzerland for blending, some more maturation and filling. Overall an strong, potent and full bodied rum that’s remarkable smooth and mild at the same time.

A nose of rum raisins, Jamaican rum for flavoring ice cream. Yellow fruit, too, and a kind of fruit brandy. The first palate is full-bodied, then the alcohol stings a little, the fruit aromas rise and then fade. The finish is short, but overripe tropical fruit lingers long. A fine rum, well made with alcohol present but well integrated, but it lacks complexity and depth.

Tasted dry, then in cocktails 🍹 A good overproof jam, but a bit pricey for what it is. I'll stick with my Wray & Nephew without hesitation! After that, it's a great Daiquiri, especially at Carbon (Lille).

Pungent, good in mixing, but I prefer OFTD. Does a decent Mai Tai in a split base 50/50 with a Smith&Cross or Xaymaca though
