This is a another rare bottle and I was really happy that my friend got a full set and I could buy some samples. This is a great Caroni and if you get the chance you should give it a go. Make sure you rest it for a good while so that you get the full experience. The nose is a clear Caroni with tar, varnish and smoky wood trailed by cherries and vanilla. The palate is fruity with tar, wood, tobacco, leather and wonderful vanilla. The finish is long with fruits, tar, wood and light vanilla. What I like is that the flavours stick to your palate for a very long time. Price to quality can be argued but it is a great release.

8,7:On the nose, varnish, rubber and tar, oak, roasted wood notes with nuts, caramelized, cream toffee, spicy and smoky, cherries, berries, bump into our nosetrils. On aeration, anise is out, dark molasses with licorice, slightly vegetal, fudge and roasted nuts. 8,7:On the palate, the attack is slightly alcoholic, earthy with tobacco, fruity with dried fruits like raisins, tropical and citrus fruits, sour cherry, industrial with tar, med with menthol, as the wood is roasted with milk chocolate, coffee, caramelized notes, leather, spicy with vanilla, allspice, salty.On oxidation, the rum becomes slightly astringent, some licorice pops up. 8,7:The finish is long, with strong oak, dry and tannic, as industrial notes like tar and rubber, pair roasted wood notes, spicy, smoky and various fruits like banana, pineapple, currants and citrus fruits. Honestly, the alcohol was really badly integrated here. For a Caroni really bad, otherwise also a lot of tea and varnish, as well as solvents and nail polish. Was just a typical Caroni, quite tasty :)

Again a classic 98 Caroni profile, quite clear in expression: wood, caramel, dark chocolate, then tar with subtle spices and dried fruits. A nice, balanced aroma spectrum, but with slight deductions for the unfortunately not fully integrated alcohol.
