Review by bossi
Wow, is this really a Long Pond? At the very first moment, judging by the nose, my blind tip would probably have gone to Hampden. I have never been able to detect so much ester in the nose of any other Long Pond from 2000. The ester is joined by a lot more glue and a basket of tropical fruits, but less medicine and plants. There is also a hint of cut wet grass, which I have never smelled in any other bottling. A nice light oily sweetness starts in the mouth, paired with the esters from the nose. The tropical fruits are also recognizable here: grilled pineapple, overripe bananas and mangoes with very light smoky aromas. Here on the palate, too, this is definitely the most estery LP from 2000 that I've had in my glass so far. A medium-long finish with light ester, lots of fruit and aniseed. Definitely the best LP from 2000 I've had the pleasure of tasting so far, and also a bottling that gives me hope that with a few more years this vintage will produce some more great wines. 86 points

Toller LP, geht schon etwas in die Richtung Hampden bzw. erscheint jünger / fruchtiger als er ist
