Wow, what a beautiful intense nose. Fine glue with an almost floral honey sweetness. A blend of sweet tropical fruits. Smells like what a maraschino cherry tastes like. Then on the palate, none of the fruitiness and sweetness is found. Honestly bitter and dry-woody, metallic and plastic with iodine. It also actually seems a bit thin with its 45%. Accordingly, the appendix is also quite short. Nose top, palate somewhat weak.

22.08.2020 A nice tasting with only Samaroli and what an evening. Notes Light in colour. Nose Intense, light wood, faint smoke, flue, light floral, cherry, dried fruit. Palate Warm, mild, light wood, light roasted, light floral, light glue, faint medicinal, tea. Finish Medium long, light wood, citrus, light medicinal, spice, light vegetal, faint licorice.

Samaroli Pacific Oblivion 2018. Let's dive into the troubled waters of Fiji. And yes, not much to get your teeth into in the Pacific, might as well say Fiji instead of Pacific. Distilled in 2009 at the South Pacific Distillery in Fiji (not to be confused with its namesake in New Zealand). This distillery holds a stainless steel Still Pot from the closure of a New Zealand Whisky distillery. On the nose, we recognize very well the profile of this distillery: green tea - waxy and pastry. In the mouth it is round and earthy. The pure volcanic waters and its humid climate give very typical rums that we like to immerse ourselves in. We can always say that it is a little too reduced (45%), but frankly it is pleasant to drink and we take pleasure. It's top before going up in the Watts 🤜. Samaroli not being very present at our wine shops, it can be found for about €100 on some online sites.

A pleasant fruitiness mingles with a balanced floral but lacks Watts!
