Went across the border for a nice tasting in Flensburg with the local finished rum on Saturday. We started off with this very old verschnitt, which was the way they cut down the rum way back. Not the best of rums but fun to try such an old bottle. Extremely heavy on the wood and it brede to rest a long time before other flavours would be present. Sweet and bitter at the same time with fruit a lot of wood and some spice.
