Best sent into hot tea, honestly — one member's fix for a rum most here find watered-down. Neat it reads thin and sweetened: soft caramel, a little vanilla, faint dried fruit and a rough edge of alcohol. Einmal muss man ihn ja probieren … und heute beginnt der Rum X Adventskalender, wo er zwar nie Teil aber immer ein Running Gag war. Wie zu erwarten kein Highlight. Bissl Vanille, homöopatisch dosierte Trockenfrucht mit viel schechtem Alkohol und zu viel Verdünnung. Ein Highlight, das man auf jeden Fall verpassen sollte 😉 Ab in den Tee damit. Damit ist er trinkbar.

Well, the okay pot still rather. I wonder if the old tradition of rum blending is still continued here. Because you smell and taste fruity Jamaican rum, but just very thin and accompanied by hardly anything else.

Better than expected. Unfortunately way too diluted. But in both smell and taste a solid cornerstone without faults. In the nose pleasantly much green banana with other fruits. In the taste a few esters that are unfortunately way too diluted. I definitely have to try their overproof.

Another "real" overseas rum, which overall must be described as thin and sweetened, but I perceive weak fruit notes. This acts as a rounding off alongside the soft caramel/sugar and some vanilla. Overall though, poor.

Really bad liqueur... From France, I bought a crate of 80 samples from one of the big rum supporters. All from the sixties and seventies. I expect nothing but swill. But hey - you have to try everything. Experience priceless. And with five people, a bit more fun. 2025-02-17

A historic evening with original period samples of rums from the 60s and 70s from Pavel Špaček on 17.2.2025. The crate of samples arrived from a collector in France, it can only surprise us. There are five of us for this, so we’ll see.

Okay for punch, tea, or grog but offers hardly anything neat. Drinkable as a Cuba Libre without any special character. I actually find the Aldi "Echter Überseerum" better. Worth a try.
