#4555 18.01.2024 Flipping a few samples today ☺️ This is an easy drinkable rum with a nice fruity profile. The palate is well rounded and sweet while also being mild in a way. The finish is medium long with a nice plum and marzipan mix. The empty glass has some chocolate, nutts and faint coconut.

My RumRatings review from 5 years ago: On the nose, the Jamaican dominates. Fruit, some ester. But also vanilla and oak notes. Barbados is present too. DR is rather unobtrusive for me. On the palate, the rum is pleasant. The 45% are noticeable and burn a bit on the tongue. Sweet fruit notes like banana and coconut are recognizable. Vanilla and also light wood notes are present. It is pleasantly sweet. The finish is short to medium length and has a certain spiciness. The rum is solid but not particularly exciting. The idea has potential and the blend is good. The Jamaican part saves the rum. But the fact that sugar was added is a pity and somehow unnecessary. At least transparent, as the bottler provides the information.

Nose rum with distinct marzipan notes; tongue sweet, spicy, a bit sharp alcohol-wise, a bit of coconut, I don't taste Bounty or similar, overall not my thing

A mix of marzipan, fruit bread and some milk chocolate that’s really fun. The rye finish is well integrated here and not as obvious as in the Plantation Jamaica 1996. For an even better rating, the rum could be fruitier for my taste. I especially like the taste of fresh coconut at the end.

Very rounded nose. The rye comes strong but not intrusive. Jamaica portion stays in the background, mainly Barbados upfront. Mild attack, relatively cool - coconut and chocolate come out clearly with more air. A hint of vanilla. The rye comes at the end. I like it!

I love this rum. Complex regarding fruitiness. The rye barrel is very present. Pleasantly woody. Very very accessible.

Read full review →Powerful rum with pronounced Rye Whisky aroma. A tiny bit less sugar would certainly have been better. But we like it like this too. Nice sipping rum.
