8,7:On the nose, esters, nail polish, soap, rubber, fermented tropical fruits like banana and pineapple, cherry, flowery, perfumed molasses, roasted wood notes like chocolate, perhaps cocoa, buttery, caramel, nuts, spicy, bump into our nosetrils. On aeration, molasses brings olive, allspice, vanilla and meaty tones arise, various fruits like orange/orange peel, apple, some red fruits, roastedness with burnt sugar, pastry. 8,5:On the palate, the attack is medicinal with esters, fruity with fermented, overripe tropical fruits like banana and pineapple, red fruits, later citrus with orange, lemon, sour, molasses is sweet with honeycomb, vegetal with briny olive, grassy with hay, dark with black tea, as the wood is roasted with dark chocolate, burnt sugar, pastry, smoky, spicy with baking spices, some metallic patina appears. 8,4:The finish is medium long, dry&tannic, medicinal with esters, phenol, rubber, slightly pungent with rotten tropical fruits and briny olive, sweet molasses with honey, grassy with hay, as the wood is roasted, smoky, spicy, meaty and rubber is burnt. On the nose, somewhat unusually spicy for a Hampden - leaning towards nutmeg blossom. On the palate, a typical buttery Low Ester with orange alongside pineapple, wood, spices, and a mix of burnt sugar and honey. The finish is also very pleasant; alcohol is perfectly integrated! Still, rather a mid-tier HD; something bothers me.

Solid basic Hampden. LROK may not be the most exciting mark, but you get what you can expect. Fruity, subtle ester note, some wood, dextrose sweetness, and very well integrated alcohol.

Finally a good CDI 😉 although somewhat thin and shallow in taste. If only the nose could be maintained even remotely here, then it would be >90

Conclusion: For 14 years Hampden, a very subtle nose, hardly any esters to be detected. With 58% a nice drinking strength, makes it seem mild and lets the aromas work properly.
