14.12.2018 A nice relaxing evening with good food and rums galore. Notes. Dark in colour. Nose: fresh, wood, roasted, coffee, nutty, banana, spice. Palate: round, oily, wood, spicy, glue, medium dry, light smoke. Finish: medium long, wood, tobacco, earthy, dried fruit.

Very unusual but also tasty Belize Single cask! On the nose first sandalwood, dark chocolate, glue and caramelized grilled pineapple, as well as some red berries and violets with lots of spices. Taste-wise then blackberry and other red berries with milk chocolate, vanilla and grilled pineapple but then again this floral note of candied violets and lots of dark roasted aromas. Overall a nice sweetness, subtly salty, lots of barrel and in the finish again the characteristic note of grilled pineapple, but for me overall too many barrel notes and too astringent.

Superb nose of caramel, incense, and floral notes. On the palate, the caramel and floral notes are still present but the spices dominate in a balanced way. The finish is long on spices and, more discreetly, licorice.

A good rum, notes of vanilla, glue and syrup on the nose. On the palate it is quite sweet and vanilla-flavored with some caramel nuances. Definitely a rum worth tasting even though I don’t know if I would buy a bottle.

The nose is elusive, it doesn't offer itself to us easily, but it is rather fruity and pleasant. I expected a more typical rum nose, but we rather find Jamaican markers like glue, solvents, spices and apple compote but less extravagant and softer. I was particularly attracted-intrigued by notes of red fruits but especially violet! The first attack on the palate is explosive, I didn't expect it given the nose, but it's logical when you have 63.2% under the hood! But everything rounds off very quickly.

Remains memorable for its mildness at that alcohol content. A rum for purists who also like rum from Barbados (vanilla, wood, mild).
