Hampden Kill Devil Jamaica HLCF 1998
Banana, pineapple and a whiff of glue and lacquer — this is Hampden's HLCF mark, aged 18 years and bottled at a gentle 46%. Fruit leads, with light oak spice and a bit of smoke underneath. One taster called it "pretty classic Hampden. Not overly funky," and that's the read: recognizable ester fruit without the full assault. A couple of members find it a touch thin, though.

Beautiful ester potpourri on the nose. Fruits like banana and pear but also clear notes of varnish and glue. Wood as well.Alcoholic attack, quickly strong wood spice and then fruit notes of pineapple and cherries. Then chocolate emerges and as time goes on it becomes bitter and salty.Then rubber, honey and burnt on the finish. Madness, this Hochesterrum is complex and undertakes piece by piece a multi-layered aromatic journey with you.

Ganz entspannter HLFC, der mit „nur“ 46 % auch nicht wässrig wirkt. Gut ausbalanciert mit schönen Früchtemix. Angenehme leichte Holznote. Runde Sache, auch wenn es ihn etwas an Tiefe und Power fehlt..

Příjemný hampden nabízející poměrně klasicky vyšší porci esterů. Ve vůni velmi ovocný kousek. Banán a ananas. Dále také odlalovač a lepidlo. V chuti z počátku ovoce, později lehce kouřové dřevo a později jnazelná sůl. Příjemné, bohužel zbytečně řídké.

Ich finde diesen HLCF ein wenig dünn. Ist meines Erachtens recht flüchtig. Außerdem schmecke ich eine leichte rauchige Note, was ich ein wenig störend finde. Gibt weit aus bessere Abfüllungen von diesem Mark.
