Banana, pineapple and a whiff of glue and lacquer — this is Hampden's HLCF mark, aged 18 years and bottled at a gentle 46%. Fruit leads, with light oak spice and a bit of smoke underneath. One taster called it "pretty classic Hampden. Not overly funky," and that's the read: recognizable ester fruit without the full assault. A couple of members find it a touch thin, though.

I find this HLCF a little thin. It's quite volatile in my opinion. I also taste a slight smoky note, which I find a little annoying. There are far better bottlings of this brand.

Very relaxed HLFC, which at "only" 46% is not watery. Well balanced with a nice mix of fruit. Pleasant light woody note. Round thing, even if it lacks a little depth and power.

Beautiful ester potpourri on the nose. Fruits like banana and pear but also clear notes of varnish and glue. Wood as well.Alcoholic attack, quickly strong wood spice and then fruit notes of pineapple and cherries. Then chocolate emerges and as time goes on it becomes bitter and salty.Then rubber, honey and burnt on the finish. Madness, this Hochesterrum is complex and undertakes piece by piece a multi-layered aromatic journey with you.

... Hampden, the legendary Jamaican distillery that besides rum also produces alcohol for perfumes. In all rums from this distillery, you can smell wild esters, after which your whole body soaks up the scent of yellow tropical fruits - mango, papaya, pineapple, peach. One of the rums you "must try before you die".

A pleasant Hampden offering a fairly classic higher dose of esters. Very fruity piece on the nose. Banana and pineapple. Also paint thinner and glue. On the palate, fruit at first, later slightly smoky wood and then noticeable salt. Pleasant, unfortunately unnecessarily thin.
