I already knew the Courcelles 1972 from this Swiss bottler. Here, a livelier rum but with brown sugar, custard, and pineapple on the nose. A full, complex palate with always pastry notes. An average finish with a nice bitterness and a light woodiness. I like it a lot, a rum that has a lot to offer! Edit: re-tasted at Acht, delicious!

24.10.2020 Lovely tasting arranged by one of my suppliers of rum. Notes Dark in colour. Nose Fresh, intense, balanced, wood, light roasted, fruity, spice, light floral, faint citrus. Palate Intense, balanced, wood, orange, light caramel, faint floral, spice, pineapple, light spicy. Finish Long and medium spicy, wood, light roasted, fruits, light caramel, light floral.

Great, very strong nose. Solvent, caramel, cookies, nice spice, dried fruits. On the palate then a bit too strong, at first it stings a bit, but afterwards a really great mouthfeel. Very spicy. Then it goes into a nice, strong, long finish. Nice agricole. Cookie dough, spicy, some dried fruits.

8,8:On the nose, strong marzipan, fresh, grassy and flowery sugarcane, slightly vegetal, thick, waxy, some solvents, strong oak and dried apricots, bump into our nosetrils. On aeration, the wood is roasted with pastry, caramelized nuts, biscuits, spicy, as cane becomes mineral, herbaceous, fruits citrus, yellow and pineapple. 8,8:On the palate, the attack is sweet with sugarcane honey, grassy, later herbaceous and flowery, as the wood is roasted with pastry, caramelized, oaky, dry, spicy with ginger, black pepper, salty.The fruits are dried. 8,7:The finish is long, dry&tannic, the sugarcane is candied, green, grassy, earthy, fresh with tea, the wood is roasted with gingerbread, biscuits, nuts, the fruits are citrus, tropical (pineapple).

This is a rum exactly to my taste. A strong spicy Agricole with depth and a long finish. Spicy and woody aromas dominate with a little dried fruit and dark caramel. I think I need to pay more attention to Reimonenq.

3rd GAF Stuttgart Warehouse Tasting at Sascha’s Compared to the ReimonenQ from Nobilis, which I had in the glass a day before, this bottling is not just a little better. I quite liked it.
