Warm, gute Trinkstärke. Honig, floral, Orangenblüte, Vanille und Rosine (Verkostungsnotizen Grand Whisky). Sehr guter Sipper, gutes PLV. So, nun mal in Ruhe das mitgenommene Sample. Fruchtig, würzig, rostig. Fein ausgewogen, gut geschmolzen, gute Trinkstärke. Etwas Teer. Die Nase ist saugut. Im Mund dann sehr würzig und irgendwie eigenartig Langer, toller Abgang. Sehr schöner Agricole, gut trinkbar.

Degusté au Spirits Days à Tournai, notes rapides : Nez : plus orienté cognac ? très fruité Bouche : pas mal d'épices et de tanins Finale : chocolat, très ronde comme un miel Bref : plus épicé et plus marqué, peut être un peu moins équilibré pour moi.

Have had this bottle for quite a while and now was a perfect day to taste it on a sunny afternoon out in the Stockholm archipelago. Rivière du mât Opus 5 is a blend of five different agricultural rums aged for a minimum of 6 years with an average age of 8 years. This is the first time I taste an Agricole from Rivière du Mat. Only tasted molasses rum from them earlier. Overall it’s better than OK, but can’t match Savanna Agricole’s which is still the best Agricole’s from La Reunion in my opinion. On the nose it’s fruity, woody, spicy and floral with aromas of tropical fruits, hay and grass. On the palate it’s fruity and spicy with flavors of vanilla, cinnamon, sugar cane and pepper. The medium long finish is round with flavors of coffee, caramel and cocoa.

Kurztrip Reunion September 2024 Zum Tagesabschluss nach der langen Anreise gibt es noch den Riviere du Mat Opus 5. Mit Abstand der Tagesbeste (was auch nicht schwer war :-)). Tolle fruchtige sowie holzige Nase. Am Gaumen wird er dann noch etwas würzig. Guter Rum.

I was a bit disappointed with this release. I know it's not a top shelf rum, but did expect more. Fresh and fruity but slides of the palate very fast.
