Green apple and dry oak lead here, thanks to a Calvados-cask influence several tasters spotted right away. Add citrus, salted caramel, a little dark chocolate and liquorice, plus faint Savanna esters. Most people call it a nice sipper — the recurring gripe is that the palate falls a touch flat and the 53.4% alcohol isn't fully tucked in.

Grande dégustation Savanna avec Artur. Un nez assez ample, équilibré avec de la douceur et un bois intégré. L’entrée de bouche est douce, puis hélas les arômes rapetissent et l’amertume augmente. La finale est moyennement longue et l’amertume est marquée.

Je re-goûte ce Savanna qui traîne dans le fond de mon bar, il est toujours aussi plaisant. Une belle couleur dorée-cuivrée. Au nez, il est assez puissant : le boisé domine avec le fruité. En bouche, la puissance aromatique est tout aussi présente qu'au nez ; les fruits se font plus discrets, le boisé domine toujours avec des notes de chocolat noir et de caramel salé. La finale est longue. Pour le coup, je lui remonte un peu la note que je lui avais mise.

Very nice Savanna. Traditionnel, indeed, but with some nice esters that recall Grand Arome. Some traits are usual savanna, especially apples. Good the influence of the cask, wood caramel and liquorice. A really nice dram, and enjoyable savanna.

A beautiful, fruity-woody nose. Besides freshness from limes and oranges, the Calvados clearly comes through with its apple notes. Some grape could also be present. Dry oak and lovely vanilla, with some cocoa and a hint of licorice out the back. On the palate, it's fruity and spicy and comes through salty and bitter at first. Again, the Calvados finish comes through with green apple. Plus some sour cherry and grapefruit. I also find nutmeg and vanilla. In the finish it remains fruity and is increasingly woody.Beautiful Savanna with Interesting Finish

You can recognize the Calvados on the nose, which you miss on the palate. The cognac is too dominant. Alcohol could be integrated a little better. Finish a bit too short. A solid rum that lacks some character.

28.02.2020 Had a nice meet up with new rum nerds. Notes. Medium dark colour. Nose Wood, fruity, light chocolate, citrus, spice, light smoke. Palate Warm, wood, fruity, pineapple, spicy, faint chocolate, light olive. Finish Medium to long, wood, spicy, medium dry, citrus. Extra note. ABV could have been better integrated.
