Lovely rum. Round flavors with caramel/butter on the front, with banana, coconut, and roasted nuts on the back. Spicy finish with woodyness and tannins.

My first Jamaican rum. Not sure how funky it is with nothing to compare to, but the lingering taste of alcohol wasn't super pleasant. The initial woodiness is nice, but I think this will probably be a mixer from me. Edit: Tried a second time. Enjoyed a little more so upped my score a half point. Drinkable on the rocks, but neat is still too much.

I had the pleasure of tasting this rum on a gloomy day, in a bar in Trento. It was my first time drinking a Jamaican rum and I had quite high expectations. The smell is strong, but not at all sharp. I expected the taste to be more fruity, but it's probably heavily covered by cinnamon. The aftertaste didn't satisfy me. Overall, it's a rum that just manages to pass but doesn't go beyond that.

Read full review →I first tasted this rum at this year's Rumfest in Prague. Originally, I thought only the design had changed and the rum itself was the same. But I was immediately convinced that the recipe had changed too, and definitely for the better.
