"Very mild and calm Jamaica" is how one taster sums it up, and that fits: 35 years in the barrel has sanded off most of the ester and left a lot of oak. Expect cappuccino, nuts and chocolate up front, then tropical fruit, citrus and a woody, tannic, faintly mineral finish. More an old-rum experience than an everyday pour.

03.03.2018 A wonderful day with my friend from Singapore at the whisky.dk event in my hometown. Notes: Pretty nice rum my friend brought for us to taste. Despite the relative ABV the profile is light and fruity with nice balance. Finish is medium long and lightly dry.

Very mild and calm Jamaica

The nose is nicely mature with tropical fruit, vanilla, woodiness and a bit of esters. Taste quite woody at first, lots of tannins, but then tropical fruit, esters, chemistry, citrus. Finishes mineral, woody, coconut, spices, grapefruit. If I had to guess, it might be Clarendon, but God knows.

I'm tasting it again after a year. It's better than I remember. sweet tones, reminiscent of cappuccino, a bit of nutsand chocolate. It's not bad, but it's not worth getting a bottle. However, it's an experience to drink something that was distilled in 1977.
