The one from Nicaragua was a bit of a letdown. A slight sweetness is noticeable, especially chocolate, along with some wood and spice. But the alcohol isn't really well integrated here. Also, it's too sharp-edged for me.

So since I'm in the flow, I immediately poured the Cuban from the Cadenhead Green Label series, the bottling from Nicaragua. For me, it's a bit nondescript and not really something I'd need a bottle of.

Cadenhead Green Label Set (3rd Ed) Thanks Alex! Nicaragua profile, if you know what you have in the glass. Too mild, alcoholic with little flavor and some sweetness. Some woody notes that make the bottling rounder.

Today a few Green Label from Cadenhead in the tasting glass. Basically, they are characterized by often being reduced to 46% like this rum. But also by having no additives and ideally the country profile shaping the rum. The color is light straw despite 19 years in the cask - but very likely continental in the Cadenhead warehouse. Right after pouring I was already thumbs down, but with time in the glass it got better. On the nose rather nondescript. A slight herbal spice. On the palate after half an hour quite OK. To the herbal spice come some subtle sweet aromas that make the rum a bit rounder and smoother. Definitely not comparable to some highly sugared representatives from this country. Medium-long finish, somewhat alcoholic on the palate notes.

Cadenhead Green Label Blind Tasting @Alex: again very similar to the others. Some aromas from the wooden barrel, otherwise flat, not much exciting. Could be a Foursquare.
