Most tasters land high on this one, and the reason is the balance: a lively nose of varnish, tropical fruit and candied cane, then a dense, spicy palate of dry oak, black pepper and vanilla. At 55.5% the alcohol reads well-integrated to nearly everyone. A couple of drinkers find the wet-oak note too earthy and drying — that's the one thing to watch.

A farmhouse with a lively nose of varnish, polish and tropical fruit. The palate is lively, with spices including pepper and yellow fruit. A beautiful expression even if the alcohol is not so well integrated. I like this expressive, expansive rum.

Well-integrated alcohol but with a little energy. The finish reminds me of a cigar break. Good value for money. Tasted again, I found it top-notch. Not as woody as my first try.

A very nice release that is fresh with lots of fruit and nice Agricole notes. At the end of the finish there is a very light smoky note.

On the nose chocolate, vanilla, red fruits. The palate is initially explosive, but soon after relaxes on notes of red fruits, wood, spices and leather typical of trois rivieres but also grass and especially moss/wood, the finish is medium persistent, round and very slightly tannic. In the empty glass, the scent that one smells in Finnish saunas remains. The high rating is given by that unique musky flavor that I favor on the finish. Flavor that during other tastings I did not find again, bringing the rating down to 9.1/9.2/9.3

Little break from the big exuberant molasses for some gentle agricultural Martinique sweetness. 👃 Candied and slightly caramelized cane, typical woody notes (soft vanilla, cinnamon, grey pepper, damp aspect). Orchard fruits first (nice note of stewed apricots, a bit of crushed mirabelle). A side of grape eau-de-vie. Tropical fruits quite distant. Characteristic smell of wood care products, tobacco and light cocoa. Alcohol currently imperceptible. 😋 Sweetness of vegetal and candied cane at the same time, quite present woody notes, dry, astringent, harsh. Dry vanilla, cinnamon, pepper. Fruity notes in the background, dried fruits, yellow fruits, a bit of dried citrus. Very good integration of alcohol. Strong point. ⛳ Warm, long for an agricole (Thanks to the 55°), damp wood, astringency, rather light markers. Honeyed sugarcane, fresh cane, fresh tobacco, light coffee beans. 💡 I realize this is my first Trois Rivières 😳 I like it, as a little easy-going sweetness. It's well made, the alcohol is very well integrated, we oscillate between the dry roundness of typical Martinique wood and all the spices that come with it, the vegetal and candied cane, orchard fruits. Preference for the nose. On the palate, I'm not very fond of this damp wood note found in many old Martinique rums. N.B. re-tasted and really the alcohol is very well blended. Nice balance. Less damp wood on the palate today. +2pts

On the nose really the absolute hammer with the fruit notes, taste then very concentrated and intense with lots of wood, leather, cocoa and some cinnamon. In the finish it is then but already very earthy and smoky, musty... Not quite my thing.

Trois-Rivières – 2006 – 8 years – 55.5% Last stop with a monument of Martinique: Trois-Rivières, whose distillation was transferred in 2004 to the La Mauny site after the closure of the Sainte-Luce distillery. Distilled in 2006 and aged 8 years in new American oak barrels under the tropics, this rum seduces with its richness. 🔸 Nose: intense, candied fruit, damp wood, varnish touch 🔸 Palate: dense, balanced, fruit jam, smoky touch, tobacco 🔸 Finish: indulgent, spicy, pleasant surprise A true daily pleasure! Easy, complex, and very enjoyable to taste.

This three-rivers cask strength is excellent, intense with spicy and peppery notes. The finish is long and the alcohol is present but well harmonious.

It's a young rum with a very (too) woody body. It lacks a bit of balance but there is a nice indulgence especially thanks to a thick texture and notes of vanilla and caramel.

A nose that does not make you think of an agricole (jam vibes in low ester?). A palate closer to its Caribbean origins. Original for a 3R and even for an agricole rum, and definitely worth trying.

Interesting nose, coconut, American oak, caramel and dark chocolate. On the palate, it's spicy, you find the vanilla thread and a little bit of a “resinous” side. It is indeed this resinous note, maritime pine or Scots pine, that lingers in the finish. A very beautiful product.
