Epic Velier Caroni Tasting 2023: Reminds a bit of the typical sweet notes from Barbados - vanilla, some chocolate, caramel, plus roasted nuts. Very pleasing blend with a high share of Light Caroni - if you’re looking for the classic dirty Caroni notes, this is not it.

A very round Caroni with a lot of pastries, vanilla, coconut, ... Way more expressive than a 1985 Old Legend and way better integrated alcohol than a Tasting Gang. One of the best Caroni of this kind 🥰

Caroni is a distillery from Trinidad that produced rum at the height of its fame, which was added in a ratio of 1:10 to the naval blend. It was too strong and strange to be pleasant on the tongue. In 2000, the distillery stopped production and was closed. It wasn't until 2010 that tasters appeared who liked the rum precisely for its special taste. And interest grew. Caroni belongs to the category of rums 'you need to try before you die.' I recommend it; Caroni is truly a unique rum.
