Don't expect much Barbados in the glass — that's the recurring surprise here. At 37.5% it barely clears the bar for rum, and members can't find much aroma past a thin, artificial sweetness and raw alcohol. A couple of light citrus notes flicker, then it's mostly neutral spirit. Cheap, and treated as a budget mixer rather than anything you'd sip.

#7341 21.09.2026 Relaxing with some samples after my bike training and a short walk to check my hip after a slip last Friday overstretching a muscle. Listening to some nice tracks by Charlotte de Witte on Spotify. This was not my cup of tea to say the least. Light profile that was out of balance in my mind.

The old Pascas white is cheap but it really can't do anything. In cola, its alcoholic taste dominates unpleasantly no matter how little you use. It has an artificial sweetness and very slight citrus notes, the rest is neutral alcohol.

Another bottle I found while tidying up in a dark corner of the mixer shelf. It's called Barbados White Rum, which you can barely call that with just 37.5%, even though it might say Barbados, because you can't taste any aroma at all. Honestly, I can't think of anything you could do with it if you want to get flavor into a glass, cookies, food, or whatever besides alcohol. So it's going away because if you're going to burden your liver, then with something that also brings flavors. Supposedly there are other spirits with the same problem...

What can you say about this?! A 10€ rum that can just about call itself that with its ABV of 37.5%. As a mixer, it barely passes at a village party. I can't recommend it for the home bar.
