One taster called this his new reference Australian single cask, and it's easy to see why. The nose leans fruity — orange peel, mandarin, green grapes — with a fresh eucalyptus lift. On the palate it turns dry and grainy, almost rye-whisky-like, with cherry, roasted nuts and light oak. Several found it a touch flat late, but the 64% is remarkably well hidden.

Wow! Reference Australian single cask for me from now on. Orange peel and orange blossoms, as well as green grapes, eucalyptus, mandarin, and white tea on the nose. Taste-wise extremely round, mild, and harmonious. Rye whisky notes, very "grainy" dry, reminiscent of cherry and baked apple aromas, plus again this gigantic freshness of eucalyptus and Australian finger limes/grapefruit and mandarin, some cocoa, roasted almonds, almond macaroons, and in the finish, it shifts more towards resin, orange blossom honey, and grape jelly with slight barrel notes. Gigantically good! PS: Sven Wolters (Rum Rarities) said it tastes like a koala's earwax turned to the left 😃

Australian Rums Tasting, Rum Club Switzerland. Vanilla and dried fruit, banana and dried herbs, a full, generous nose. The palate is powerful and rich, yet balanced with well-integrated alcohol and wood. Molasses and brown sugar add to the nose. The finish is moderately long, with vanilla wood and dried fruit. Everything finishes at once here. A very fine, complex and flavorful rum. The alcohol comes through a little at the end.

A Beenleigh that holds quite a few surprises. The nose is quite light at first but hides its game well with lots of fruity aromas: citrus (orange and mandarin zest), peach, apple and pear bring a lot of freshness to the profile. In contrast, the spices (vanilla, cinnamon, licorice, pepper, chili) form with the sweet side of caramel, nougat and honey a gourmand mix opposing the previously mentioned floral and fruity scent. It's a rather varied and intense profile that opens up over time. The attack on the palate is powerful, marked by a first fruity wave on pear, apple, peach and grape. Then come the wood, the spices (vanilla, pepper, chili, licorice, nutmeg), then an alcoholic touch that leans towards whisky, but more on the cereal side than peaty. The caramel and roasted hazelnut side gives some roundness to the profile. The alcohol is rather well integrated. The profile takes a rather unexpected turn, not unpleasant but not as impressive as it promised. The finish is long, dry and powerful, but loses a bit in aromatics compared to the rest. It stays focused on spicy and woody notes, on nuts, leather and bitterness, thus losing the fruity side so tempting on the nose (except for a touch of mandarin and grape). Despite this slight lack of "life," it remains a quality selection that has its charm and complexity.

A very nice surprise from Australia and I will see if I can get my hands on a bottle. Fruity with nuts and lovely mix of spices and light wood. Everything is in almost perfect hermony. The empty glass gives you even more after an hour or so.

Good rum here from Australia. Nice fruity nose consisting of oranges and orange peels. On the palate also slightly fruity. I can recognize cherries and cherry wood. The rum convinces 👍

Australians are relatively rare in my glass and it was time again :) On the nose lots of fruit, plus caramel, wood and vanilla. On the palate creamy, fruity with a light sweetness and again the fruity notes in the foreground. I like it very much overall.

Once again an interesting representative from 2007. Goes a bit in the direction of the RA but then leans more towards the nutty roasted side and yes, you can also speak of a flavor proximity to Barbados. But one with a nice fruity nose. Exciting bottling!

I like it very much, the 64% are surprisingly well integrated, I would never have guessed it that high. Not alcoholic or 'sharp' at all. I miss a bit of depth in flavor, but price-performance is right.

One of my favorites when it comes to enjoying an Australian rum. When I smell it, I immediately find myself mentally in Down Under. Also suitable for beginners, the alcohol is very well integrated.
