Smell: At first toffee, licorice, red wine and red currants. Strong and intense. Then it becomes herbal, floral and spicy with Indian spices, especially cardamom. Also smells of new barrel, light wood and chestnuts. Taste: At first still a bit sweet in the mouth. When swallowing, very herbal, very spicy and sharp. Dry, woody and leathery with aromas of vanilla, licorice, ginger, pepper and chili. Finish: Short, dry and spicy. The aftertaste is spicy-sharp and slightly bitter. Conclusion: For me, a rather average rum.
