Out of the gate, I am not a big fan of spiced rums and know little about them, but have had some that I have liked. This, however, was not one of them. It tasted like cough syrup straight; and mixed was just a bit better.

Guyana

Avg Rating 8.4/10 over 1,600 Rums

Guyana is the last home of the wooden still, and the only rum country where the place on the label is almost never the place the rum was made. Its rum, called Demerara after the river, went from 109 distilleries to one, and the estates that closed live on as marks: codes for a recipe, not for a machine. Reading them is the whole skill.
