Moon Import Port Mourant Demerara Rum 1974
Best sipped neat and slowly — this is a rum to sit with. It's very dark, oily and plummy, with dark chocolate, ripe dried fruit and a whisper of licorice, and the sherry wood sits so well that one taster wouldn't have guessed there was a finish at all. Dry oak closes it out. A few find it a touch mild for a Port Mourant, but the depth is real.

Surprisingly plummy and fruity for a 74, dry wood on the finish - beautiful depth and complexity. The sherry finish is perfectly integrated. I wouldn't guess a finish at all.

Kräftiger und komplexer Rum mit viel Tiefe. Noten von dunkler Schokolade, reifen Früchten und feinen Gewürzen machen ihn sehr spannend. Der Abgang ist lang und angenehm wärmend, ohne dabei zu schwer zu wirken. Ein echtes Highlight.

Viel Fruchtaromatik, Pflaume satt mit getrockneten Früchten. Ohne allerletzte Komplexität, aber trotzdem ein sehr zugängliches Release mit famoser Süsse. Exzellent.

A few notes on this one as well. Very dark, oily and fruity rum. The nose in the empty glass after an hour is amazing. Price to quality extremely good.
