Sweet, fresh, interesting. Spent 1 year I moscatel cask which is rare. Good balance between freshness and aged rum.

This rum is pretty light, alcoholic on the nose. It is peppery on the palate with hints of young wood and moscatel finishing. What I don’t like abut this rum is that it’s pretty harsh. Surprisingly, it benefits from adding some sugar. I tried dosing it between 10 and 20 g/l and somewhere around 15 g/l it really shines: the moscatel finishing comes forward and harshness is masked. For the same reason it is good in Rum Old Fashioned.

Also a normal average rum. Not particularly good, but not really bad either. Can also be enjoyed neat. Tastes slightly alcoholic, but I like that :) So maybe not for gourmets, but otherwise okay.

Very light on the nose. There's not much going on here, but the muscatel barrel is noticeable. This gives it a very pleasant sweetness that works surprisingly well with the clear pepper note. A hint of grappa and a gentle, even pleasant spiciness on the finish - but mild and not alcoholic. I'm very surprised here. Very, very boring nose, but then the taste is quite unique - it should be dull, but I really like it. A very unusual combination. Addendum: unfortunately extremely flat after a few hits. Ouch...

Nice sample no 7 of the 24 days of rum calendar. 👃 is sharp, alcoholic with soft sweetness. Tongue is much better. Chocolate, fudge, vanilla, caramel. So sweet but still a little hint of alcohol. Medium long finish.

It was really good experience but i expected more from mezan. Thin, sweet and strong. Worth to try

The 7 just revised... On the whole, not much RUM for the money. Somehow so Lala not really good 😕 There are better ones in terms of taste but also worse ones. I would not recommend it.

Part of the 1423 rum Christmas-calendar from 2023. The nose is very spirit-y and spicy despite it being 40% ABV. In the notes I found spices, wood and some hints of molasses. Might be good in a cocktail

24 Days of Rum 2023, Blue Edition, Day 7 You have to follow the fine aromas on the nose, but it's worth it. On the palate, the muscatel notes of the second maturation. Long, unfortunately only alcoholic finish. Not my kind of rum.

Hinkt geschmacklich dem Geruch hinterher, recht flach und spritzig im Abgang

A very light unimpressive nose. Mmm... Taste not much better. Incredibly diluted and light. Faint minerals. Some caramel and toffee. Why bottle this at 40%. Might even be nice at cask strength or overproof. Every flavour this has, which is not bad, but too watery. Let down!

Extremely weak in taste, alcohol poorly integrated and simply not a well-rounded thing and irrelevant...
Review by Robert Houba
Ostrá vůně, středně ostrá chuť, alkoholové.
Review by MoMcGurk
I like the natural flavors designation without additives. I wish the moscatel flavoring was a bit stronger, but I did get it. Mixed was OK, but not special.

"Whatever the moscatel cask did. It should have not done that. This is watery, extremely alcoholic and barren of any flavour. This god forsaken land of rum was not meant to be drank straight. This is not fun."
