My RumRatings review from 6 years ago: The Plantation is typical for a Trinidad rum but has additional fruity and spicy aromas due to aging in a Muscat cask. The nose needs some time. Spicy smoky influences with a certain residual sharpness are noticeable. With a slight sweetness, it is appealing and can definitely be explored longer. On the palate, it is direct. Sweet aromas of honey and chocolate are on the tongue. Smoky wood notes accompany and make the rum interesting. The sharpness comes through on the way to the finish. The finish is characterized by fruity sweet notes of banana and vanilla captured by the wood. The smoke lingers long and makes the rum pleasant in the aftertaste. The Plantation is a very distinctive rum which I enjoyed drinking very much and which fully convinced me. It has edges and corners. Therefore, it is not a light or elegant rum. A bit rounder and fuller-bodied would enhance it even more. But I was surprised myself how often I chose this rum in the evening. It was always fun to explore it. Anyone who finds a bottle should definitely grab it. By the way, my bottle was 124/450.
